This is another collapsed region of settings, unlike the others, you will probably what to at least check these before clicking save.

Published

For most content types this is already checked and will publish your content as soon as you click save. Uncheck the box if you want to save your content without publishing so you can come back to it later, before publishing it.

If your site has content Scheduling, you will want to uncheck this field if you set a scheduled publishing time.

Promoted to Front Page

This check box tells the system if it should put this content on your Home/News page.

Sticky at top of Lists

This tells the system to keep this content at the top of the page, not allowing newer content to push it down.

If you have a very active site, with a lot of new content, you may want to make an important content item "sticky" for a day or two to allow to stay visible.

Send Subscriptions

If your site has Content Subscription, this check box will determine if subscribers will be sent this content when it is published. Subscriptions are sent every time you make a change to content, so if you are not making a change to the actual content, but only taking off the "sticky" setting, or the like, uncheck this box so subscribers don't get something they have already seen.
