Menu Settings

In general, you do not need to worry about these settings. You should only have to create menu settings, if you are creating a new static Page. Since you do not need the menu settings on most content types, the fields are collapsed under the heading, to make the form neater. If you need to use these settings, click on the link for Menu Settings, generally found right after the "Title" field.

Menu link title

This field will be the text that is displayed to the visitor in the menu. Keep it short and descriptive.

Parent Item

This field tells the system where to put your menu item. There are three menus that are available:

  • Navigation - Quick links for the visitor
  • Primary - Main menu, on most sites multi-level dropdown menu at top
  • Secondary - More quick links off on most sites

If you need the secondary menu turned on and positioned, please contact John to have this done.

Weight

This is the relative position of the menu item in the list, higher numbers are heavier and fall down the menu, item with the same weight are in alphabetical order.
